Blue Millefiori Glass Pendant

This beautiful Blue Millefiori Glass Pendant starts out as a raw slab of blue, red, yellow, and white millefiori glass, also known as Italian Murano Glass. Millefiori is a type of mosaic glassware characterized by a flowerlike pattern. Wire Wrapped Murrine stone has been cut, shaped, and then polished into the shape you see here. It is then wire wrapped in copper wire into the beautiful piece you see here. This is a unique pendant, handmade by our lapidarist Erik. What is Millefiori Glass? 

Millefiori, also known as Murrine, or venetian glass is one of the best-known and highly sought-after techniques of Murano glass making. It stands for “a thousand flowers” in  Italian.  It is produced by first heating a bundle of thin glass rods of different colors until the rods fuse together. The millefiori technique involves the production of glass canes or rods, known as murrine, with multicolored patterns which are viewable only from the cut ends of the cane. A murrine rod is heated in a furnace and pulled until thin while still maintaining the cross section’s design.

Italian Murano Glass is a known as a master healer gem and is also supposed to stimulate the circulatory and immune systems. Millefiori Glass is a perfect gemstone for healing childhood trauma and enhancing self-esteem. As a grounding stone, it beefs up the energy field when applied in meditation as well as enhances intuition along with other psychic abilities. It raises the wearer up from self-pity for those things that one cannot change.
