This is a base metal cast setting. It has a silver-tone finish. The earrings are approximately 1 1/4 inches by 1 inch in size.

The background color is black with gears placed in a specific pattern, which are then covered in a protective dome. Larger gears are fastened to sterling silver earring hooks.
