Scarab, Latin scarabaeus, in ancient Egyptian religion, an important symbol in the form of the dung beetle (Scarabaeus sacer), which lays its eggs in dung balls fashioned through rolling. The scarab (kheper) beetle was one of the most popular amulets in ancient Egypt because the insect was a symbol of the sun god Re. This association evolved from the Egyptians’ misunderstanding of the scarab’s life cycle. … Thus, the Egyptian word for scarab translates as “to come into being.” Along with embodying the concept of existence, development, and growth, the scarab was revered for representing the cycle of life and death.

Note: This pendant can have an optional pocket watch chain added instead of the necklace chain if you prefer to wear it as a pocket watch decoration.

This is a custom-designed pendant by our artist Bex. It is one of a kind (OOAK) READY TO SHIP NOW

The setting is cast and plated with an antique silver finish. It is approximately 2 1/2 inches by 2 1/2 inches, and the design is held in place with epoxy resin.

A steampunked watch plate is the base of the design. Real watch parts and steampunk gears with a scarab charm, and pink rhinestones finish this piece.

Choose your chain. Choose between a copper necklace chain or a pocket watch-style chain.
