The Eureka Springs Historical Museum is excited to announce our new TIME TRAVEL event for this year:
The 1973 Longhair Invasion!
The 1973 Longhair Invasion!
LAST YEAR, we traveled back to 1898 for the infamous Eureka Springs Jailbreak and the ensuing “Jailbird Ball”. Our guests were treated to an unforgettable evening of period music and entertainment, mugshots, a silent auction of items from the “evidence room”, an immersive jailbreak experience, social dancing, and some of the best “prison food” ever served on this side of the Mississippi.
THIS YEAR, we’re getting into a different groove! On the evening of August 8, 2025, we’re breaking out the bell-bottoms, tie-dye, and longhair fashions as we pay tribute to the Eureka Springs of 1973 and the “Longhair Invasion” of back-to-the-land artists, musicians, and free-thinkers that turned our town into an original Ozark hippie haven.
