Unicorn Round-Up! Forest Guardian

I was recently asked to alter a papier-mache unicorn to raise funds for The Purple Flower, an organization that helps victims of Domestic Violence, S/A & Human Trafficking. All proceeds support their work at The Purple Flower. Any still left by 4/23 will be auctioned live at New Delhi (5-9pm). 

Forest Guardian

This is the before and after of my unicorn entitled ‘Forest Guardian’.
” Long before paths were cut, and trees were named, the forest was said to raise its own protectors.”
It has white quartz from the Ozark Mountains, hand-sculpted clay mushrooms, and dried moss.

The sculpture features a weathered, organic finish with earthy metallic tones across the unicorn’s head and horn, giving it an aged, mystical appearance. The long, sculpted horn rises from a crown wrapped in twine and accented with small crystal-like stones. Around the frame, preserved moss, bark fragments, leaves, and natural elements create a dimensional forest scene that appears to grow around the mythical creature.

A small plaque at the base reads “Forest Guardian,” reinforcing the fantasy theme and suggesting a protective spirit of the woods. The piece blends fantasy imagery with rustic natural materials, making it a unique decorative artwork for collectors of mythical, woodland, or fantasy-inspired décor.
