Spring Diversity Weekend 2026

Spring Diversity Weekend 2026, which is put on by Out in Eureka, was a great time as always. Although it was surprisingly cold for this time of year, many people came to the event and had a great time. We love being a part of this event for many reasons.

One of the first things Erik said to me on our first date was, ” I want you to be yourself around me”. This was the same attitude I would try to instill in my twins when they were little. People would call them “the twins” or want me to dress them alike all the time, and I would get upset. No, they are individuals. Call them by their name! As we are all different and individuals. This is all we ever ask of anyone. Be genuinely you. I think this is part of why this cause is important to me. If you can’t be your true self, who are you trying to be? Out in Eureka’s motto is “We believe in creating a world where individuals are free to express their gender identity and sexual orientation with pride, and diversity is celebrated every day. In Eureka Springs, you are Free To Be!” You can donate to them HERE

Occasionally, Spring Diversity weekend falls on the same weekend as Easter because it is always on the first weekend of April. The beauty of the town of Eureka Springs is that it can not only host several Diversity events each year, but also host them at the same time as the “Jesus Parade”. Yes, in Eureka Springs, we do celebrate ALL.

A Blessing of Unicorns

Another cool thing about Out in Eureka is that they do tons of fundraisers for very good causes. This time, they had a Unicorn Round Up, which included over 25 hand-embellished papier-mache unicorns. These unicorns were created by local artists for this fundraiser for The Purple Flower. You can read more about this event HERE

Wanderoo Lodge

We were also lucky enough to be asked to move our vendor tables to Wanderoo/Gravel Bar for a few hours after the Diversity festivities. This was fun as always. Gravel Bar has the bEST flatbread ever. If you are in Eureka Springs, you should definitely go there. The owner is amazing and does so much for the community.
