“Out of the Box”
Out of the Box is a new art show at coffee shop and bar Brews in Eureka Springs, Arkansas, that I was very excited to be a part of. The artists were asked to create an assemblage piece that incorporates a box. There were many awesome pieces at this art show. I had a blast making mine. I love putting tiny pieces together to create something incredible. This is what I do with my jewelry, too. I had most of these components left over from jewelry making and also made all of the pages myself. I cut over 300 pictures of poems and quotes out and hardened them all with glue. All of the pictures inside the house are images that I made into the timy frames and covered in resin. I made the chair and fireplace from cardboard and material. The roof is handmade as well. “The Madness of Nevermore”. Assemblage art in an old coo-coo clock. There are over 20 references to Edgar Allan Poe’s poetry, stories, and quotes represented in this. This is my piece for the newest art show at Brews titled “Out of the Box”. August 14, 2024
