8×10 Under $200 Art Show At Brews

From the post “The new group exhibition at Brews, “8 x 10” – $200 And Under,” starts Wednesday, Dec. 11, 2024 with an opening reception from 5 to 8 p.m.
More than 80 artists were given 8 x 10 inch canvases and asked to create a work in any theme or medium. The only criteria – the works could not be framed and all pieces had to be priced at $200 or less. This is a cash and carry show to help out artists during the holidays, so sold works will not be on the walls for the entire six-week run. These pieces will make great holiday gifts while supporting our local artist community.”

I was very excited to be a part of this Christmas event and ended up painting four different pieces for this show, plus one commission. The first two sold right away. I was very surprised. It is always so much fun to be a part of these art shows. Whenever the subject allows, I like to be able to try painting something I haven’t done before. This time, I thought I’d try to paint snow. I think they turned out well.

After these two paintings sold right away, I was commissioned by a local man to paint Twisted Peppermint for his sister. I got it done within one week.

My painting Winter Wonderland was featured in the local newspaper the Democrat Gazette!
So after all of my paintings sold, I decided to get two more up there. These are the two I took. Prints will be coming soon in our Etsy Sho,p so be on the lookout for that.
