Blue: A Group Exhibition at BREWS
Blue: A Group Exhibition at BREWS
It was an honor to be among the many amazing artists in this group show at Brews. As soon as I heard the subject of this show, I knew what I wanted to paint. I have wanted to paint the Eureka Springs Goddess for quite some time, and this was my chance. I painted Aza walking down Spring Street between the Flat Iron Building and Basin Park Hotel. This painting sold, which gave me many mixed emotions. When I paint something, even though it may be a specific theme or requirement, I still paint it for me. This piece was very emotional to me because I had to put so much heart into it. I was very proud to have sold it, but I will certainly miss her.
This piece was also featured in I Love Eureka‘s blog “A Blue Dot in a Red Sea“.
I do have large prints of her available at Visions on Main. They are giclee prints on 100% cotton rag paper, printed with 200-year ink. When matted, they will fit in a 16×20 frame, which is the same size as the original. Only 25 prints were made. (Robert Pawlson for scale)
You can also get this painting in a necklace, made by me in our Etsy Shop.

Official announcement: Brews is thrilled to announce its latest exhibition, “Blue”, which opens on Wednesday, September 25, with an opening reception from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m.
This vibrant showcase features works from local artists who were challenged to incorporate the color blue as the focal point of their creations.
From the emotional depths of Picasso’s Blue Period to the flowing energy of a Blue Wave and the soulful essence of The Blues Tradition, the exhibition invites artists and visitors alike to explore the many facets of this iconic color.
The pieces on display will span a variety of themes and mediums, with one common thread—the use of a blue palette as the defining feature.
Brews is located at 2 Pine St. in Eureka Springs, AR.
Pictured below is the man who created the statue Adora Zerlina Astra, or Aza, which still stands near Basin Park, with my lovely friend Janie Davis, owner of Visions on Main. Mr. Anderson bought one of my prints of my painting. I am honored.
